In India 3 year grad are arts, humanities, science, management and accounting.
while 4+ year degrees are for technology, engineering, agriculture, medicine.
UK (some parts of europe as well) and Australia seems to have similar system in some of its university.

I see that for EB2 the PD is 01 APR 2004 now. I want to know if I-485 approvals is linked to this PD date or they will work independent to these days.

Filing 485 during visa unavailability, should not be the concern in this bill. Why our people are worrying about filing AOS when visa number unavailable? Man, this should not be our concern at all. Our main concern should be reinstating the AC21 provision that allow the oversubscribed countries to use excess visas in each EB category. Specter removed very important provision that eliminate per country limit in EB visas for oversubscribed countries. This is a big blow to India, China. It will stop all the benefits from this bill.
If the current form of specter bill passes, there is no benefit to any of us. If EB visa increased to 290K, excluding dependents from counting from FY 2001, recapturing unused visa from 2001 to 2005, and excluding EB1 (OR+EA) and EB2 (MS+3) from count, that drastically increase the visa numbers. The increase is unimaginable, and I feel that it will be about 4 to 5 times than current 140K numbers. If all the listed provisions appears in the final bill, the visa number will always be �current� for all countries for many years, provided AC21 (elimination of per country limit if demand is less than supply) reinstated. If this happens, no one needs to worry about filing AOS when visa number unavailable. That situation never arises.

DOS simply say per country limit is 10% only no matter what. Remember that, 10% is total of FB+EB numbers. (480000+290000). India and China FB numbers are also heavily backlogged. Since your H-1B change of status is approved, you are in H-1B Status now. In order to continue working on H-1B status after overseas trip, you must enter USA using H-1B visa stamp. This may require you to apply and get new H-1B visa stamp.

My PD is Nov 2004, I got 140 approved. Im not filing 485 now as im unmarried.

Are you planning on getting married? Even if you are when you get married, your spouse can file as a derivative and incase your green card is approved. Your spouse will have 180 days in which to apply (i-485).
Talk to your lawyer, it may make sense to file now!

Please don't give wrong information so authoritatively :)
Labor Certification(LC) for Green Card processing has nothing to with Labor Condition Agreement(LCA) attached to H1-B.
If you moved to a different state from intended work place when your employer filed H1-B (extension included), your company need to get a new LCA.
Do not confuse between (Permanent) Labor Certification from Labor Condition Agreement, simply because of the abbreviations(LC vs LCA).

Even PA DMV also adopted more troublesome procedure of giving DL to the LEGAL IMMIGRANTS.

In turn the members who had taken help could contribute to IV�s good cause, in terms of funds, taking part in activities, etc. Hi the concept is very simple, if you had gone to a doctor, you will end up spending 2 hr waiting to see the doctor and then pay 150 to talk to them for 15 min. We will help you and intern you help us, or may be help yourself if you are a person going through the GC process. I can take initiative for this task, my wife is a physician and I know 20 other doctors who are in the GC process.

Being a consular processing 6 months is a goog time. If you are already working for your existing employer for more than 6 months, even on H1 then you can take a risk. Basically you need to prove an intent. No body expects anyone needs to be a slave to any employer.

I would say, if the intent to migrate is for GC, then the best option is come here as Nurse, as a schedule A worker.
They do get the GC very fast.I know one of my frnd who did this.
He came here to study MBA, then converted to Schedule A nursing job by writing few exams and wait for GC , once you get it then you can do what ever it takes to become a complete practicing doctor in US.
I do not know if any other details apart from this.

How can one find his/her receipt date if they dont have copy of their receipt notice, just the receipt notice?
Take the infopass appointment. Tell them your 485 receipt number and request them for Receipt Date & Notice Date. In the initial screen, I think officer can only see Notice Date. Then request them for Receipt date, then I think they can dig the info and find the info.
Few officers are not aware and they say that there will be only one date i.e. 'Notice Date', you should tell them the difference between Notice Date & Receipt Date, then they will try to look. This happened to me, So I showed them my I-140 receipt and explained the difference. Then the officer got convinced to check for Receipt Date for 485 in the system.

Yes, you can move to H4 and then to H1-B as long as that H1-B is filed within 12 months. Otherwise, your application will be subject to 65K cap limit
H4 can be filed onself, I have seen some of my friends do it. To file AOS once PD is current, it is essential that one be in H1-B status.

Once you get the I 485 receipt..you can apply EAD on your own..Why you need to beg for that to the Employer. Let it go. File for your I 485 and get the receipt. That's enough to keep you in status.
