I am not sure whether you have US born kid or not.. but I have read somewhere that if mother has US born kid, she can stay here in US on Kids account. You might want to check this...

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis and our prayers are with you and your family.
But as suggested by IV members, please do consider a visit to india and take second opinion from the Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, its one of the best cancer treament centre in the world.
US Healthcare system is for Profit, some medical facilities in US are exception, but if you see the overall Healthcare system it sucks and its all driven by insurance and big Pharmaceutical companies.
Please send me the private e-mail if you need any help in Mumbai to reach good doctor in Tata Memorial Hospital.
Thank you all for your help and support but I have made peace with my fate. I have pancreas cancer with VERY poor pragnosis and trust me I took 5 different opinions with the some of the best hospitals in US and Europe.
Regarding my family, something is working out in Sweden and probably all of us will move there permanently in 1-2 months. We have some relatives living there.
Thanks again for all you help. You guys really made us feel we are not alone.

For variety of reasons, I wish to explore option of consulting instead of permanent corporate job. Can I do consulting in my own name directly or do I need to be associated with some company?
Green card (EB-2, Nov 29,2004 PD) application is in my name. I have filed 485 this July and expecting my EAD any time. I will be invoking AC21 after 6 months.
But need answer to this question
A. Consult on own?

going back to india is a personal decision, and each case differs. circumstances are key in this decision process. one or more members' past experience in india will not apply...

Like many others on these forums, I have given up significant opportunities because I believed mistakenly that the GC mess would be cleared up in 2-3 years. Sometimes that does lead to extreme frustration - My wife often jokes that when I do actually receive my GC, I will have lost a very convenient excuse that the lack of one is holding me back. :-)
To those who are starting down this path, I have this piece of unsolicited advice. If you feel that you are depressed and this is affecting your health and/or your family, it may be best to move on - the world is a big place, full of opportunity; opportunities that cannot be quantified by an O*NET job code. Enjoy everyday while you can - you only live once.

Does anybody know how long one can stay out of Canada after landing? I heard some where its 2 years and some say its 3 years from the date you land.
And that time does not have to be continous. You can do cycle of 6 months in Canada 1 year outside outside and it will still count to 2 years by end of 5 years, or you can do just last 2 years of those 5 years.

At one end it is bad that USCIS moved back Nebraska Processing date to June 08 2007 (More than one month backword) but it looks like USCIS is preparing itself to kick EB3-India ahead... It is too early to say this confidently.. But my feeling is that USCIS will keep processing dates tied to June 2007 and will kick EB3-India ahead. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Though as per murthy's web site in May bulletin EB3-India dates will remain same, I am feeling that if my guess is correct then at least from June bulletin we will see 2 patterns 1) Nebraka processing date would not move ahead for some months or will

True, like I still have a EDD letter talks about my first case for GC was filled on Aug. 2001 as wanted to immigrant but what is the use, as I have to file new one as even if I have transferred my employment to my parent companies client, USCIS has no rule to transfer labor process or priority dates until has approved i140, they requires to file new one which surly takes time. And I am sure mostly people completed even 10 years of working waiting for GC have the same issue.

Hi,
This is not going to be a concrete suggestions like the ones seen above in the page 7 of this thread. There is a large India Caucus in the senate (also in House??) and they are well tuned to the reality of situations. I dont mean that these efforts should narrowed down to a particular subpopulation of retrogression victims. This is just a suggestion with good intentions. Even if this India Caucus congress members may not have direct role in immigration bills, I wonder whether they could be used to approach other members with stake in this immigration legislation. I am sorry I dont know anybody in that caucus (wish I did).

You have predicted that EB3-India cut of date would become June 2003. But your PD is July 2003. Usually people do not predict that way. They predict their own PD would become current pretty soon.:D

making our first campaign(revision of VB) successfull. As you mentioned that we need to continue this fight even if one has recieved there green card. For those who got, need to remember the pain they went through and that of other's who are going through it now! This blackbox of Employment based Green Card process needs to be more fit towards the high-tech century when everything else is.
