Finally, EAD card ordered on principal application.... Spouse's was ordered and received 9/12. Finally, mine was PRODUCTION ORDERED this evening.... Any others in the same boat, don't panic... they are doing them in random order....
No word on FP or AP yet.. However, any address changers, make hte online change and they are very fast... I changed my address and the 2second business day I had two letters in the mail saying that the address has been updated on my and spouse's 765 applications.. couple of days later one more that 485 address was updated and after that nothing....

I can tell you there are roughly 100,000 labor applications filed (50,000 EB3) between Aug 2003 and Dec 2003 for EB India category. The reason was everybody wanted to clear thru regular process before PERM takes over. Those Labors filed after Aug 2003 and before PERM started are moved into backlog and are fully cleary last 4 th quarter. And so 90% of those EB3s may be still there (45,000) hanging. EB2s could have been cleared substantially till Dec 2003. It is all my guess work and not sceintific or factual.

I am a 2 July 2007 filer. Many SR's and calls later no FP.But I applied for EAD and AP renewal last week.I got the FP notice in mail today.
So I think that the renewal may trigger a FP notice.

Receipt# is printed on check after it's cashed.
In my case, my employer asked me to make checks payable to employer (for attorney fees as well as filing fees) and they cut the check for USCIS and attorneys. I don't understand how it helps them but delays in my getting the receipt#. If they let me pay directly to USCIS, I could at least get the receipt#s. My I-485 was received at NSC on 06/04/2007 morning.

If I simplify the whole attitude of IV members; it would be "EB3 is hopeless; EB2 doesn't need any help".
The way the whole EB GC stands now, EB2 folks do not need any additional help. The dates are moving relatively fast. In a year or two most of the EB2 folks will get GC. So why spend money and time in IV efforts?
As far as EB3 folks are considered, we have no hope. CIR is dead; piecemeal efforts are opposed by CHC. IV has never shown much interest in piecemeal efforts, despite the fact that what ever little efforts have resulted in enormous positive results.

If you think it is that ridiculuous, then you should tell the core members that. They did ask us to call him on the last day of LD. There is nothing wrong in writing to him. In fact, you are making a comparison that is not correct.
Actually, it was an exceptional situation. As you are well aware of, we had to get an unanimous consent if the skil bill were to pass in the LD, so, we needed to have Session's approval. To deflect the situation, he just said that his office hadnt received any positive comments.. When we ended up jamming his phones and gave all the positive comments, what came out of that, nuthing.. he did not budge from his stance.. It was just a ploy and even if the entire US of A had called him, he would not have changed his stance.. He had to score brownie points from his supporters. He knows that the Skil bill will be passed next year, and may be some form of CIR even.. He can then blame it on the democrats and stand for re-election in 2009 with complete support from his supporters..
Its all a gimmick for votes. This is politics, same thing in every country, just more sophisticated here...

Actually when you are in H1b and without pay then you are out of status. You and your company are violating the law. Impact for your company is minimal if they get caught. Company could be fined for 10k to 1M based on number of violations. If they violations are so much then your company could be banned for h1b for a few years. In that case they will start different company and escape.
First impact for you is you will face problem while H1b transfer. At the time of transfer if you do not have paystubs your H1 transfer will be denied.
While processing green card USCIS could send RFE regarding this and you need to explain this and USCIS could accept or refuse.
When you are out of status for more than 6 months you are subject to ban of entry for 3 years to USA. And if you are out of status for more than 1 year you subject to 10 year ban. Again they will ask explanation before taking any action. These were extreme cases I never heard of. But if you knowlingly violate law you are taking risk knowlingly. Many cases USCIS is sympathatic. Again this case is similar to hiding tax from IRS and 80% of people get away because of lack of enforcement and 20% people those got caught and their life will be screwed completely.

My case was received by NSC on JUN 1st. They issued the recipt numbers on JUN 5th. I am still waiting on my wifes. They could clear on Monday.. Looks like NSC is also trying to speed up things. They are just one day slower than TSC in issuing recepts.
